WEBINAR: Sorting Through Tools for Writing - Alternative Pencils with Kelly Fonner

REGISTER FOR THIS WEBINAR

For some individuals, writing has been difficult due to their inability to manipulate the standard tools of writing. Many educators, therapists, and parents have heard of the concept of Alternative Pencils. During this webinar, we will show and give examples of various alternative pencils, including alphabet tiles, electronic keyboards, and partner-assisted scanning. Throughout this webinar, we will be describing and demonstrating the feature options of alternative pencils through input, processing, output, and other key features that pertain to people with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and/or cognitive disabilities. Participants will receive a feature match matrix that they can use during their alternative writing evaluation process. The benefits of learning this feature match approach are that this process extends beyond the writing area and into all areas of assistive technology.
