This session will build on the information presented in Session 1 and examine selected apps and technology resources that can be powerful tools to support language development through play for young children, including those with language delays and who may be using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). We will apply the considerations for choosing an effective early childhood technology learning resource to examine apps that promote receptive and expressive language development. The session will also focus on strategies for educators and families to use these resources not simply as something to entertain their child, but to build the skills that children need to be effective communicators.
