Join us for this exciting book study featuring, Inclusive Learning 365:  Edtech Strategies for Every Day of the Year.  The ATP Education Program has partnered with the Nebraska Educational Technology Association (NETA) in bringing this great learning opportunity to Nebraska! This book study will be led by the authors of the book.  You can read more about the authors below.  The book study will meet once a month starting in September.

Who is Leading the Book Study?

Chris BugajChristopher R. Bugaj, MA CCC‐SLP is a founding member of the Assistive Technology Team for Loudoun County Public Schools. Chris co-hosts the Talking With Tech podcast featuring interviews and conversations about augmentative and alternative communication and has hosted TheA.T.TIPSCAST; a multi‐award winning podcast featuring strategies to design educational experiences. Chris is the co‐author of The Practical (and Fun)Guide to Assistive Technology in Public Schools published by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and has designed and instructed online courses for ISTE on the topics of Assistive Technology and Universal Design for Learning. Chris co-authored two chapters for a book published by Brookes Publishing titled Technology Tools for Students with Autism. Chris co‐produced and co‐authored the popular Night Light Stories podcast which features original stories for children of all ages. Chris has presented over 500 live or digital sessions at local, regional, state, national and international events, including TEDx. His latest book The New Assistive Tech: Make Learning Awesome For All, also published byISTE, is available for order now!

 

Karen JanowskiKaren Janowski is an Assistive & Educational Technology Consultant, and former Adjunct Professor at Simmons College in Boston, MA. She presents both locally and nationally about the importance of using ubiquitous technologies whichremove the obstacles to learning for all learners and is a passionate advocate of Universal Design for Learning. She is an EdCampBoston and EdCampAccess organizer and co-moderates #ATchat on Twitter, and has blogged at http://teachingeverystudent.blogspot.com since 2005. She is the President and owner of EdTech Solutions, Inc in Reading, MA, which provides AT and AAC professional development, coaching, consultations, and assessments throughout the Greater Boston area.

 

 

 

Mike MarottaMike Marotta is a RESNA Certified Assistive Technology Professional, and inclusive Technology Evangelist, who has been providing direct services to individuals with all disabilities for almost 30 years. Mike is the 2017 ISTE Inclusive Learning Network Outstanding Educator. Mike is a nationally and internationally recognized presenter who was previously a trainer for California State University at Northridge (CSUN), providing practical and in-depth training to professionals interested in specializing in assistive technology. In addition, Mike is an adjunct professor at Ramapo College of New Jersey (NJ) where he teaches Masters's level educators in Assistive Technology and Universal Design for Learning. Mike runs his own consulting company, Inclusive Technology Solutions LLC, where he provides services related to providing inclusive technology solutions for all learners. Mike is the Director of the Richard West AssistiveTechnology Advocacy Center at Disability Rights New Jersey and serves on the CAST Accessible Educational Materials and Center on Inclusive Technology & Education Systems (CITES) Advisory Boards. Mike is also the founder of EdcampAccess NJ and co-moderator of the weekly #ATchat Twitter chat.

 

 

Beth PossBeth Poss is a Speech-Language Pathologist and is currently the Director of Educational Programs for LessonPix. She has previously served as an assistant principal, special education supervisor, curriculum writer, and assistive technology team member with Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland. She is passionate about using visual supports and customized high-quality educational resources to support all students in accessing a rigorous curriculum in a Universally Designed Learned educational environment. She is an adjunct faculty member for Shepherd University and presents nationally on best practices in Early Childhood, Special Education, Assistive Technology, Instructional Technology, and Universal Design for Learning. Areas of special interest include Designing Inclusive Learning Environments, Visual Supports for Students with Disabilities, and Culturally Responsive Teaching.

 

 

What will the Participants Be Expected to Do?

  • Attend monthly meetings via Zoom to discuss the chapter of the book.
  • Read the assigned chapters in advance of each monthly meeting.
  • Optional - Participate in the online discussion between monthly meetings.
  • Complete engagement activities associated with the book.
